Not long ago, skeptics dismissed the threat of global warming as a hoax, but today there can be no denying its impact on the environment and ecosystems. In the next weeks and months, I’ll be surveying some of the print and on-line publications devoted to ecopoetry to learn more about what editors are seeking.

I’ll also take a look at the praise poem, tracing its origins and highlighting some of the best of contemporary examples, including the work of Mary Oliver; I’ll explore the role of the witness in poetry, and continue to post writing prompts, book reviews, interviews, and notes on haiku.
